Town Hall on the Financial Health of Stony Brook University
TIME: Friday April 5, 2019 from 11AM – 1PM
LOCATION: 137 Harriman Hall
Last Fall an anonymous group of concerned faculty commissioned an independent audit of our University’s financial condition. This audit was delivered to the Executive Committee of the University Senate, which asked its Committee on Academic Planning and Resource Allocation (CAPRA) for an assessment. This assessment and the full audit were delivered to the University Senate at its March 4 meeting.
The audit revealed that Stony Brook University is in good financial health; CAPRA considered the audit credible.
To disseminate the results of this report to the university community, and to engender discussion of the ramifications of the financial health of the University, the University Senate will host a Town Hall on Friday April 5. Professor Howard Bunsis, author of the independent audit, will present his findings. Prof. Bunsis and members of CAPRA and the Senate will be available to take questions.
We urge all members of the community who can attend to do so. This affects us all.
