Colleagues,
If you’re unvaccinated and unsure about whether to get the COVID-19 vaccine, UUP is bringing together experts to help sort through this confusing, concerning situation. UUP will hold a noontime virtual COVID-19 vaccination forum on Friday, Sept. 24. Called “Vax Questions, Vax Answers,” the forum will feature a panel of medical experts from several health care settings—including SUNY’s public teaching hospitals in Brooklyn, Stony Brook and Syracuse—who will answer your questions about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.
The forum will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. Click HERE to register.
Since the vaccine became available, UUP has strongly urged our members to get vaccinated. As UUP’s president, I have been consistent from the start: the vaccine is safe and effective. It saves lives. It can save your life and the lives of people in your family. By getting vaccinated, you can protect yourself, your family and those around you from getting sick.
I appreciate that you have questions about the vaccine’s safety, which is making you hesitant about getting inoculated. Hopefully, by getting answers to your questions from trusted medical professionals—who happen to be your UUP colleagues—you will feel assured enough to roll up your sleeve and get vaccinated.
We can beat COVID, but we need your help. Getting vaccinated is an important step toward ending this pandemic and getting back to our lives.
Let’s do this together. Let’s #VaxUpUUP!
In solidarity,
Frederick E. Kowal, Ph.D.
