Health & Safety Workshop: Shed The Meds and NARCAN training

UUP is collaborating with the Stony Brook University’s Police Department and Center for Prevention and Outreach for an upcoming Health and Safety Workshop. This workshop will include a Narcan training and a “Shed the Meds” medication take back event. Attendees will be educated on the signs of an opioid overdose and learn how to administer Narcan, or naloxone, a prescription nasal spray used to treat opioid overdose symptoms. All participants will receive a Narcan kit.  Attendees will also be invited to safely dispose of any unused or expired prescription drugs in their homes to prevent drug addiction and overdose and environmental damage. Medications of any kind will be accepted, except liquids or needles.
