Eligible UUP members will see a $600 lump-sum payment in their Oct. 31 paychecks.
Salary increases and retroactive pay due to members as part of UUP’s new contract are set to be paid starting Nov. 28.
The lump-sum payment, salary increases and retroactive pay were collectively bargained by UUP in its new six-year agreement with the state. The contract was overwhelmingly approved by members Sept. 5; nearly 98 percent of members who voted cast ballots in favor of the pact.
“From providing cutting-edge health care services and making groundbreaking research to making SUNY a world-class university system, our members are dedicated to SUNY and the students and patients that they serve,” said UUP President Fred Kowal. “We are proud to deliver these well-deserved increases and benefits to our members, collectively bargained by UUP in our new six-year contract with the state.”
Eligible employees will see base salary increases, retroactive cash, and lump-sum payments/awards in their paychecks beginning Oct. 31.
Oct. 31 paycheck:
$600 lump-sum payment (prorated for part-time employees)

- Payable to employees who were on payroll as of June 30, 2017 and Oct. 17, 2018.
- Part-time employees on payroll as of April 30, 2017 are also eligible.

Nov. 28 paycheck:
2016 2 percent increase to base salary

- Payable to employees on payroll as of June 30, 2016 and Sept. 5, 2018.
- Employees not on payroll on June 30, 2016 that worked in the preceding and following academic years are also eligible.

2017 2 percent increase to base salary

- Payable to employees on payroll as of June 30, 2017 and Sept. 5, 2018.
- Employees not on payroll on June 30, 2017 who worked in the preceding and following academic years are also eligible.

50 percent of retroactive cash for back pay from the 2016 and 2017 increases.

- Remaining 50% of retro will be paid in the first paycheck in July 2019.

Dec. 12 paycheck:
2018 2 percent increase to base salary

- Payable to employees on payroll as of June 30, 2018 and Sept. 5, 2018.
- Employees not on payroll on June 30, 2018 who worked in the preceding and following academic years are also eligible.
- 100% of retroactive cash for back pay from the 2018 increase.

2018 Discretionary Salary Awards

- Lump-sum awards not added to base salary, paid at the discretion of the campus president.
- Total campus money for DSA equal to 1 percent of the UUP payroll.
