Talking with as many members as possible is what it’s all about for UUP’s Negotiations Team as it prepares to enter into talks with the state over a new contract in 2022.
The team has spent the last two months doing just that through a series of virtual regional Negotiations Town Hall meetings. Those meetings continue Nov. 3 with a presentation for members at chapters on Long Island; they wrap up Nov. 4 with a presentation for members at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and New York City metro-area campuses.

Open only to UUP members in those areas, the forums provide members with an opportunity to share issues important to them with the Team and tell Team members what they’d like to see in a new contract. UUP’s five-year agreement with the state expires July 1, 2022.
In December, the team will launch a series of virtual Constituency Negotiations Town Hall events for specific groups, such as hospital employees, professionals and contingents.
Five Town Halls have been slated; the series begins Dec. 2 with a Town Hall for professionals at SUNY’s health sciences centers in Brooklyn, Buffalo, Stony Brook and Syracuse.
